BTX Sky Control 5066 System

The Sky Control™ 5066 System by BTX is available for straight, horizontal or inclined skylight openings, as well as for customized curved atriums, barrel vaults, greenhouse facades and the like. It comes equipped with powerful synchronous motors that are extremely quiet and reliable. Each shade features two direct drive AC motors integrated into the headrails at the stack position by means of quick connect couplers for easy motor access. The headrails can be spaced as far as 6' at center for the regular shade.

System 5066 is equipped with telescopic travelers that are supported by wheeled carriers traveling the headrails. An endless loop of flexible, non-stretch drive belt rotates inside each headrail, driven by the motors. The telescoping rods are traversed by the action of the belt. The rods, which are inserted in pockets in the shading fabric, are completely hidden. The rods stack tightly in the end pockets, similar to a roman shade stack.

The travel length of the system can be up to 20 feet for unspliced systems. The opening can be either one-way or split from the center. Splicing additional sections onto the headrails permits longer systems. As the travel length gets longer, overall allowable span width proportionally reduces. Depending on overall dimension and shade material weight, the system can span from 3' to 6' between headrails.

Features:
  • Available for straight, inclined, or arched skylight openings
  • Shading material of systems completely clears window when retracted, with no wires, strings, or belts remaining in sight
  • Systems are powered by direct drive synchronous motors
  • Built-in limit switches ensure automatic shut-off
  • System 5066 can be curved to specification
Parameters:
  • Min. recommended radius = 24"*
  • Max. travel length unspliced = 240"
  • Max. travel length spliced = Depends upon weight and width
